I Heart Faces | Black & White Photo Challenge

It’s been a while…

I’ve taken some time off, and now I’m ready to get back into my groove. I Heart Faces is one of my fav websites for photographers, and even those who enjoy photography. The challenge this month is B&W, maybe my favorite sort of photo. I had a few images in mind to submit, but I always come back to this one. Andee was jumping on the trampoline after our photo shoot, and I caught her in mid air. I love everything about this.

Wedding | Rebekah & John, Greenwood, SC | Atlanta, GA Portrait & Wedding photographer

So, I have to say, I fell in LOVE with wedding photography after this wedding. I mean, I had the coolest couple ever known to man. Rebekah was SO stinkin cool about everything, which made it easier on me. These are some of my favorites from their special day.

One more thing: this was my first wedding ever. I’ve never even second shot a wedding. I took a HUGE leap with doing this. But, Rebekah was adamant with me being her photographer. So, with tears in my eyes, I want to say a HUGE “thank you” from the bottom of my heart, to Rebekah, John, and their parents, for putting their trust in me on such a special, once in a lifetime event. I hope I captured your day, the way you always envisioned it to be. I love you two.

I cant wait to take pictures of little Hull babies. :) LOL. Later John, later.

Until next time,
SS

Here is my REFLECTION image for this week’s photo challenge at the Bloom Forum.  Today, we celebrated Gabriel’s 2nd birthday and he was more excited over this balloons than anything. :)

Now head over to Jessica Marchetti – Dallas Family Photographer – to see what she comes up with for this week’s theme.

Bloom 52 | Week 34 {Color}

“Red, orange, green, blue, shiny yellow, purple too!” Does anyone remember this song from childhood? Anytime I think about the ROY G. BIV rainbow helper, I think of this song…and I cant understand why they didn’t follow the correct order. I’m CERTAIN they could have made a melody with the correct order. It has confused me since.

This week, in our Bloom circle, the theme is COLOR. It’s pretty simple to just look around and see color everywhere. We don’t see in black & white…EVERYTHING has a color. I am most amazed at the colors of nature, especially when its a color you don’t see everyday, like the green grass or the blue sky.

Sunsets will always be one of my natural highs. Always. There is absolutely no editing done do this photo (as I never edit a sunset). I would feel like I’m messing up God’s artwork. :)

Now go check out Jessica Marchetti – Dallas Family Photographer, to see her killer color image!

Until next time,
SS

Children | Oh, and when the kids are old enough, we’re gonna teach them to fly

“Wanna pack your bags, something small
Take what you need and we disappear
Without a trace we be gone, gone
The moon and the stars and follow the car
And then when we get to the ocean
Gonna take a boat to the end of the world
All the way to the end of the world…” – DMB

So, Zed’s BFF, Jason and his wife, Brandy came down to visit us a couple weeks ago, and I jumped on the opportunity to get our kids together and take some pictures. They are right at the same ages, and are growing up together. The have these cute little crushes on each other, and can you blame them? They are all so stinkin adorable. Of course. I will ALWAYS jump on that chance to have new images of these girls in my portfolio. :) These are my favorites….

I love this one of Kylee in her cool shades. Miss Model chick! Then we hopped on the trampoline to get some fun air shots!I’m still in AWE of how good the ones of Andee turned out. :) Probably some of my favorite images I’ve taken to date.FAVORITE……AHHHHHHH!
“You and I, we’re not tied to the ground
Not falling but rising, like rolling around
Eyes closed above the rooftops
Eyes closed, we’re gonna spin through the stars
Our arms wide as the sky
We gonna ride the blue all the way to the end of the world,
To the end of the world…” -DMB

Enjoy, and until next time….

Families | 4 Generations & Immense Love

I had a wonderful time working with this family. When I got the call, I was told it was 4 generations of family. LOVE!! These children were so well mannered and a dream to work with. And Sue, the great grandmother, who doesn’t look like she can have great grandchildren, is the sweetest lady I think I have ever met. Her daughter (umm a GORGEOUS grandmother as well), was in on vacation so we got some images of her as well with her grand-babies. You don’t get these opportunities all the time, to have family come in from out of town, and capture the memories of them. Before we know it, all the children are grown and having children of their own. Enjoy these precious images, I know I had an amazing time taking them. ;)
